Types of Architecture Presentation
Shed Model Project
We were given the task of making plans for a small shed that Riley and I would build with hot glue and small wood sticks. First, we had to draw each side on paper and measure the thickness and length of each stick and stud. Drawing the studs was the most difficult part due to the requirement to space them every other inch and ensure that they fit in the shed walls. If we had measured too close to the studs, we would have had to start over. However, Riley and I were successful in overcoming the drawbacks and completing the shed. To construct a shed that would teach us about interior walls and studs, we sliced balsa wood into sticks and hot-glued them together.
Simple Floor Plan
The first project we did in this class is the simple floorplan. During this Project I learned about scaling, Interior and Exterior walls, Interior Design, Doors, Windows, and Dimensioning Houses.
Bealing Indian Creek Drawling
Another floor plan, this time of our choosing, was the second project I completed for this class. I was required to select a floorplan from the available files and create a bespoke floorplan from the plan. I had to perform the same tasks at a higher level for this project as for my straightforward floor plan. Due to the fact that not all of the dimensions were provided directly from the plan, you were mostly required to learn how to scale during this project. I also learned how to construct closets as part of this project.
Bealing Indian Creek Elevations
We entered Elevations after I finished the floor plan for Indian Creek. An orthographic projection drawing of one side of the house is called an elevation drawing. The vertical height dimensions and finished appearance of a particular side of the house are the goals of an elevation drawing. It is common practice to draw four elevations, one for each side of the house.
Detailed Section View
After I had completed my elevations. I used my north view and turned it into a detailed section view. A drawing of a single component, an assembly of multiple parts, or an entire system of assemblies is known as a detailed section drawing. A complete and precise description of a part's dimensions, shape, and manufacturing process can be found in a detailed section drawing.
Revit Garage
In order to learn how to use Revit on a smaller, simpler structure, we constructed a two-car garage. We learned how to make multiple elevations from a floorplan, draw a structure in Revit, make and manage new sheets, and change things like doors and windows by building the shed.
Revit Tiny Home
We had to go one step further and construct a one-bedroom, one-bathroom house with a kitchen, living room, and dining table in an open space before we could move on to our main REVIT project. I changed the roof so that it was different and had a higher pitch but was not two-sided. Additionally, I desired large windows in the front so that light could penetrate nearly the entire structure.
Revit Family Home
We were given a variety of floor plans from which to construct our homes for the family house project. Compared to the tiny house project, these homes were much larger and had much more intricate and functional details that we would have to complete on our own. Since we were now on our own with this project, this would allow us to put what we had learned about the program into practice and make use of it. The project would require us to create our own elevations, working drawings, interior details, square footage, detail drawings, and schedules for the windows, doors, and rooms in addition to just the house from the floorplan.
